The Scottish Human Rights Bill Consultation
From 15th June to 5th October 2023, the Scottish Government ran a public consultation about the Human Rights Bill. The Consortium helped to inform and engage civil society organisations to respond.
What did respondents say?
There were a massive 397 responses to the consultation on the Scottish Human Rights Bill, and almost half of these (187 / 47%) were from civil society organisations.
The vast majority of responses supported the whole idea of the Bill. Many gave suggestions for how the Bill could be strong and effective.

What did the Consortium say in the consultation?
We strongly support the Scottish Human Rights Bill. We agree with the general Bill proposals, but also think they could be improved.

The Consortium produced a Guide to help organisations respond to the Consultation. Many thanks to the Environmental Rights Centre for Scotland for their contribution to this Guide.
We also held 13 consultation explainer events, and spoke at many more. More than 400 organisations, with 900+ participants in total, took part in these events.
