Women’s Rights – CEDAW
The Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) is a United Nations convention which protects the rights of women.
It establishes equality between women and men, protects women’s reproductive rights, and requires governments to take deliberate steps to eliminate discrimination.
It was brought into force internationally in 1979, and will be incorporated into law in Scotland by 2026.
