Rights Here. Rights Now. Launches Across Scotland

Today, we have launched: Rights Here. Rights Now., a new Scotland-wide storytelling and public engagement campaign developed in partnership with JustRight Scotland (and is funded by The Independent Human Rights Fund for Scotland and Corra Foundation). The campaign aims to show how human rights affect everyday life and why stronger human rights protections matter for everyone in Scotland.

Too often, human rights are portrayed as abstract legal concepts or something that only affects certain groups of people. Rights Here. Rights Now. seeks to challenge that perception by highlighting how human rights connect directly to issues people care about every day, including housing, healthcare, education, privacy, family life and access to justice.

At the heart of the campaign are powerful stories from people and communities across Scotland. Through films, testimonies and lived-experience storytelling, the campaign explores what happens when rights are respected and protected, and what can happen when they are overlooked.

The campaign also aims to strengthen public understanding of human rights, challenge misinformation, and build support for stronger protections, including a future Human Rights Bill for Scotland.

Human Rights Affect All of Us

Human rights are part of everyday life. They help protect our health, our homes, our education, our relationships, our privacy, and our ability to be heard when decisions affect us. The stories shared through Rights Here. Rights Now. demonstrate that human rights are not distant or complicated. They are practical protections that belong to all of us.
