First Minister responds to civil society call on Scottish Human Rights Bill
We are pleased to share that we have received a response from First Minister John Swinney to the joint letter previously sent by HRCS and 42 partner organisations, calling for the Scottish Human Rights Bill and the appointment of a Cabinet Minister for Human Rights.
The First Minister acknowledges the contribution of civil society and gives a strong commitment to progressing the Scottish Human Rights Bill.
This is a positive step in continued engagement on strengthening human rights protections in Scotland.
We will continue to work with the Scottish Government as the Bill develops and ensure that civil society voices remain central to the process.
The original joint letter can be read here, and the First Minister’s response is available here.
